A Positive Attitude Is Great But…

There are plenty of reasons to be positive about things in this world and in your life.  Still…it’s good to face reality and take it head on even if it doesn’t agree with your positive outlook. Creative copy in the news is a perfect example of how emotions, outlooks on life, and even major events in life are manipulated. Don’t fall victim to these tactics.

For instance…there are three positions you can take on just about any issue:

  1. Pessimism
  2. Optimism
  3. Realism

Numbers 1 and 3 can mix together. Numbers 2 and 3 can blend, too. But numbers 1 and 2 are total opposites. Now I can take an issue like unemployment and report it from either of the first two positions. First…pessimism can say “unemployment is up to 6%”. Or optimism could say 94% of people who want to work are working. The numbers represent the same thing, but they sure don’t sound the same, do they?

The only reason I’m bringing this up is because it’s a new year. 2009 is only a couple days old, and reports from the stock market are talking about stocks making “solid gains” on the first trading day of the year to end the week “above 9000 for the first time since November”.

Don’t let your guard down. Keep working diligently on your personal economy, and don’t be swayed by “good news” or dismayed by “bad news”. Keep your eyes on the prize. Even if giant corporations crumble around you it doesn’t mean the money vaporizes. It just means it changes hands. And that means it’s still available to you, too.

Focus is the watchword for me this year. I hope you’ll join me. We can achieve what we focus on.

Stay tuned,

Would you invest $125 to save hundreds over the next few years?

Could you benefit from a tea that improves digestion?

Wanna know where you can really kick back and relax?…and have the confidence of knowing it’s all “green” with no harsh chemicals…only essential oils and herbs.

Look…saving the planet is a great idea. (although I don’t think we’re strong enough to destroy it)

But what good is saving the planet if none of us are even here to enjoy it. We’ve got to “save” us, too. And some of the best ways to do this are through the use of “green” ideas. I’m not an environmental extremist. I do like to keep things basic and pure; though. And you can find some great tips on how to get more “green” into your life at IdealBite.com I’m not an affiliate, so I don’t make any money if you visit their website. I just think they have a nice approach to this whole “green” thing. Check it out for yourself.

Learn some quick tips…who knows? Maybe you’re greener than you think you are.

To your great health,

We humans are funny creatures. Especially those of us who’ve been fortunate to have been born in a “free” society. Americans, especially, tend to be very image-bound and sound byte- gagged.

First, we see what seems to be the definition of success, and we measure ourselves against it. When the dollar amounts are staggering, or the beauty is beyond fantasy, or the “stuff” is piled up on TV, we feel pitifully inadequate.

But we are not the sum total of our dollars, beauty, or “stuff”. We’re not the sum total of our monikers we wear through this life. We’re not the sum total of the varied opinions about us. Those don’t make us, and they shouldn’t break us.

Work to produce…not for the money.
Play to relax…not to escape.
Laugh to enjoy…not to cover up.
Love to give…not to acquire.
And live to be thankful…not to compare.

You are the sum total of where you position yourself for eternity.

To your confidence…

P.S. For creative copy from a great listener, just send me your name and email address in that easy box over there on the right. And I’ll write you back. We’ll schedule a time to talk about your business, your dreams, your goals. Then we’ll make it happen.
