I found a cool (and free) tool that might come in handy for you if you’d like to make a PDF presentation to accompany a video you’ve produced. It takes the video (in FLV format) you upload and gives you the chance to “capture” images, insert notes, and save the finished product as a PDF on your hard drive.

And don’t worry if you don’t create flash video. Remember; you can simply upload your QuickTime or other format video to YouTube, and they’ll convert it to Flash by default. Here’s what you do…

Go to Vidinotes.com and follow the simple 1-2-3 instructions at the top of the page. If you already have FLV videos on your computer, you’ll just start the upload process you see there. If not, you’ll have the extra step of downloading your FLV video from YouTube (or similar service) to your computer before you can upload.

Once you’ve uploaded your video to Vidinotes, you’ll be able to play the video and click on the capture button anytime you see an image you want to use for your presentation. Then, you can insert notes next to the images you’ve saved and “bingo!”…you’ve got a presentation. All you’ll need to do then is hit the print button and choose your options to either print or save as a PDF. Then, you’re good to go.

After that, it’s up to you how you use it. Give it a try and see if it’s something you could add to your arsenal.

When you want to get your message across in a big and memorable way, there’s nothing better than rich media. As the web copy specialist I’m always looking for what I call the “short hook”. You’ve heard “sound byte” or “catch phrase”. Yep, that’s what I mean. And video works like a charm. All the words in your marketing can be found before any scrolling down the page occurs.

Many marketers extol the virtues of long copy in advertising. I’m not denying that. But I’m almost positive of the new direction. And it’s aimed at the ever decreasing short attention span of the masses. The good news is this…video combines short copy and long copy. How? Simple. As you’ll see in this entertaining video on economics, a lot of words are used in a short amount of time. And even the average short-attention-span consumer can catch the drift.
