Professional Writer…Smartphone…Is There A Connection?
There’s definitely a connection when it comes to this professional writer.
I just read where, by some estimates, smartphone usage (with apps) is now about 9% more than computer browsing. So…what this means is…what I said a long time ago is coming to pass. Less is more when it comes to writing to get attention. By that I just mean that with billions of cellphone users all getting bombarded with zillions of messages…you’d better be able to grab their attention fast. Or give them a good reason to click further into your info.
Mobile websites are necessary now…not merely an option. And even on the best looking mobile devices most typical websites don’t look all that great. There’s only a little bit of digital real estate to work with so your mobile website needs to get to the point. And point to the “get”.
Think your project or business might benefit from working with a professional writer who knows how to do this?

A Professional Writer Should Avoid Hype
I call myself a professional writer because I get paid to write and produce words and media for other people and for businesses. Sometimes to get better search engine results, sometimes for more website traffic, and sometimes just to tell the story. The main thing is to get people to notice and respond and take action. Since we’re visual and interactive creatures it only makes sense the internet should be like that, too.
If you want to work on your own business writing, that’s great. And here’s what I suggest…
- Study what successful internet marketing people are doing
- Do what those people are doing
- Learn to write well
- Research niches
- Start a blog (and get some key plugins) based on your niche research
- Create relevant, actionable content
- Keep writing your regular blog posts
- Connect to social media sites
- And create backlinks to your relevant information
- …oh yeah…and don’t forget to create some products people want to buy
That’s it. Get those few things going, and you’ll be on your way to internet marketing success. Also…be prepared to be in business for the long haul because those “make-$14,876-in-only-one-month” sales pitches are just selling you hype. Real business requires real work and dedication. But the payoff endures.

Is Your Business Global, Yet?
I call myself a professional writer. And I’ve served clients in many parts of the U.S. and even in other parts of the world. But I certainly wouldn’t say my business is global. Here’s a little secret…
I don’t plan to be global either.
There’s plenty of business for me in my own local area. And I can easily telecommute and expand into the rest of the country. That’s why it’s an excellent marketing strategy to be easily found in “local search” engine results…even before concentrating on a bigger picture. After all, if you’re like most businesses in the world, you serve your community. So it only makes sense for your community to easily find you in their computer and on their mobile devices.
Can a professional writer help you position yourself on the first page of local search engine results? I know one who might…
