3 Ways Mobile Optimized Ads Can Mobilize Your Message
You may know everybody’s on their mobile devices these days. But maybe you don’t realize just how much buying and selling is going on there. Let me use a very technical term to describe how much commerce is taking place on mobile devices. Are you ready for this? “Tons!” Yeah, that much. And with billions of mobile devices scattered all over the planet, it doesn’t appear to be trending downward any time soon…if ever. So, I’d like you to see 3 ways (and more) mobile optimized ads could be in your marketing mix. First watch this video based on Google’s research…
OK…here are 3 things to keep in mind about mobile:
- People use mobile devices to search even more than desktop now
- People tend to buy locally
- People respond to mobile ads
Do you know anyone (you maybe) who’s on their mobile device more often than their regular computer? Well, it’s no wonder since everyone tends to carry their smartphone with them everywhere they go. Did you notice that part in the video?
Have you ever bought anything…even a pizza…after seeing a mobile ad? I have. And lots of people I know have. That was another stand-out point in the video.
And why do you suppose people respond to mobile ads? Well, I have a theory about that. I believe it’s because those ads that get the most response are the most engaging, or educating, or entertaining ones. The ones that get to the point quickly and do it in a way that keeps the user from tapping away. If you’ve found yourself caught up in a mobile ad, you probably noticed action. Action content that moved or spoke. Not merely black and white words…or clever graphics…but actual sound and video.
I believe that active and engaging way of marketing on mobile is here to stay. And I believe it’ll get better as technology improves. And I believe you’ll see it more and more integrated and assimilated right into the experience. Movies have been doing this very effectively for a long time. And I see our mobile devices and miniature movie machines.
Maybe it’s just me. But I don’t think so.
What do you say? Are you considering mobile optimized ads yet? If so, in what way?
